Join some of Shetland's most experienced tutors to immerse yourself and appreciate some of the processes involved in Scotland's heritage textiles with a contemporary edge.
The 5 days at Abbotsford will give you the opportunity to learn about age old techniques through a range of basic hands-on workshops in FAIR ISLE KNITTING, SHETLAND LACE KNITTING, PLAIN WEAVE, TAATIT RUG MAKING AND BASKET WEAVING.
Visits to places of textile interest are included in the itinerary.
All the workshops are in small groups, are optional and great fun!
The tutors are in attendance for the full five days offering to assist you with their knowledge at every level if you wish to bring your own ideas or work in progress with you.
